-----

(Ed. Linda Berry Gillispie has been reluctant to talk about her family. Indeed, until this note below, we knew almost nothing. But then a June '05 note from her to a college chum at Willamette University (W.U.) found its way to our mail box. Linda is rightly proud of her children, just as we're sure they are of their mother. The information is presented with permission):

"A year ago I resigned my position as a California Youth Authority high school principal. Now I'm just teaching psychology classes at Modesto Junior College and doing some counseling there also.

"My husband, George, retired as Chief Deputy Probation Officer for the County three years ago and now spends his time coaching soccer for one of Turlock's high schools. With his background in police work, he is in charge of background investigations for the Turlock Police Department.

"My oldest daughter Janice is married to a Turlock Police Lt. and she is a counselor at a middle school. She has a two girls ages 7 & 10. Janice went to W.U., MA from U of O, EdD from Univ. of Pacific.

"My daughter Lisa who went to U.C. Santa Barbara and Boston Univ. College of Law, has 2 children, a boy 16 mo. and a daughter 6. She's an attorney in Sacramento.

"My son Kevin is getting married to his high school sweetheart in July. He went to U.C. Santa Barbara and U.C. Hastings Law School and is employed as an attorney in Concord (lives in Oakland, ugh!)

"Our youngest, Bonnie, got married in Kauai last summer. She also went to U.C. Santa Barbara and then she went to Cal State Long Beach for her teaching credential and MA in Counseling. She's been working as a teacher in Paramount, but she and her husband are moving to Boston in a month where he will work on an MBA at Brandeis in Intl. Bus.

"We really have great kids. They've all been good athletes....3 for them played at Santa Barbara, 1 soccer, 2 water polo. They all donate time to the community. We have been really fortunate.
